Buoy in the Cove - Oil on Panel - 5 x 7

$140.00
Sold

Normally, I wouldn’t paint ocean water quite this green, but late last summer that all changed while I was on a hike in Boothbay. I stopped to sit on some rocks in a little cove and noticed how the reflected trees created a vibrant green backdrop for the orange and white buoys that were gently bobbing in the wake of a passing boat. I wish I could have stayed longer, but all peaceful moments must come to an end. In that instant, my husband discovered a large crab in the rocks and fished it out to show the kids. But wildlife shouldn’t be trifled with, and one bleeding thumb later, the crab retreated back into its briny green kingdom.

This painting is sold unframed and is available to purchase at Argosy Gallery in Bar Harbor, Maine.
